Sixth Station: Board Rules
Intro

Welcome, stranger, to Sixth Station! We are an AU Hunger Games RP set in a parallel universe (if you will) to the books. Therefore, we have no book characters and the setting is changed. But if you're interested in knowing more about the background information, please read the rest of the board information. Read more about us here. I digress.

As a member of Sixth Station, you are responsible for the following information. You do not have to memorize it. You do not have to find a code. You don't have to stand in front of the class and recite it--you just need to be a respectful and mature individual. Please continue reading....

Board Rules

Have Fun and Be Polite. Our goal here is to enjoy writing with each other, so this should be a fun time. Being polite to each other helps us achieve this goal and furthers communication between members. If you have any questions or concerns, you are encouraged to talk to a staff member ASAP.

Site is Rated PG-13. Due to board ToS, the site is rated no higher than PG-13. Sexual content must fade to black. Approach violence with care. If anyone posts any pornographic photos, text or comments, the player (or spambot) will be banned immediately.

Registering. Join with your character's name in proper capitalization. Middle names are not mandatory by any means. You must be 13 years or older to join this site.

No Spamming. Do not spam the forum. The exception is the game area where post count is off.

You Do Not Have to Have Read the Book to Play. At all. I've changed the setting a bit anyhow, so it's not quite like the books, either, to allow for more movement and creativity between characters. But if you haven't read the books, you may want to because they're super fun.

Read the Setting. Well, read all the board info, but particularly the setting. The districts are different in layout than they are in the books. I frequently get told, "But I can't play with him because my character is in a different district!" The setting thread will solve this puzzle for you.

In-Character Rules

Writing Standards are as Follows: All members are expected to make quality posts regardless of length. Each post must contain enough for the other RPer to work with, be it action or dialogue. Keep in mind that narrative is definitely allowed, but it doesn't give the other member anything to respond to because it's internal and there are no mind readers on the board.
-- The word count for the site is 8 (eight). If you post fewer than 8 words, we beat you with a stick.
-- All posts must be in third-person, past tense for consistency.
-- Use proper spelling and grammar. Spell check is your friend.

Capitol and the Districts: Characters from the Capitol may not visit the Districts. Characters from the Districts may not visit the Capitol. If this changes in the future, you will be notified because it's a major plot change.

Characters Can Die. All district residents age 12-18 will be entered in the drawing for the Hunger Games. Only one of the twenty-three children will live. For other characters not related, they can die as well, though it must be approved by the player first.
-- The above player approval is void if the character is doing something dumb that would legitimately get him or her killed. If you are confused or want to run your plot by the staff, please contact a staff member.

Be Active. Please be active on the site, particularly if your character is a Tribute.

No Godmodding, Powerplaying or Metagaming. Your character cannot be all powerful or all knowing. He cannot control other characters.

Character-Creation Rules

Realistic Characters. The characters must be realistic for their age, gender and social position. Please no flying monkeys, really awesome teenagers who can kick the ass of a 30 year old cage fighter, or pregnant dudes. If it doesn't fit the setting, it is not allowed.

About Districts: Characters can be from any district 1 through 12. Please be aware that there are certain social gaps that apply to each district. Please see the District thread for more information. Note that every single person cannot have a relative who went to the Hunger Games.

About the Capitol: If you would like your character to be from the Capitol, go for it. However, remember that, unless given administrator permission, they cannot be chilling in the Districts.

About Victors: If you want to create a Victor (winner of previous Hunger Games), the application will be held up to different standards because there are fewer availabilities for this position. The Victor gets to choose the arena in which they took part.
-- In order to apply for a victor, the player must have read at least the first book of the trilogy. The second and third books are recommended.

About Avoxes. Avoxes are allowed. Please see the usergroup thread for more information.

About Family in the Games: We can't have every character with 12 family members who went to the Games. Please check with the staff to find out if you can have a character whose brother/aunt/mom/grandfather went to the Games.

No Book Characters. This is AU. Those characters never existed.

Run Rape Plots by Admin First. Any plots that have to do with rape--including in the character background--have to be run by the staff first. Because we don't need every character being raped.

Do Not Post WIP Apps. They're too cluttering and they confuse Gem, thus making it longer for your applications to be processed.

Graphics Rules

Avatars: max size is 190 x 300 px.

Signatures: Do not stretch the board. A good width is 500px.

PBs: You may use any celebrity provided the person is a legitimate celebrity. If you have a character whose PB is under 18, you may not RP any sexual plot (including fade to black).

No moving gifs in signatures, avatars or RP posts. You may have them in plotting threads and OoC. This does not include text gifts, which you may have throughout the board provided they don't blind anyone ;] (Large picture gifs slow down the computer for some users.)

C-Box Rules
General Rules

♦ All Content Must Be PG-13 or Lower. The cbox follows the same general guidelines as the rest of the board.

♦ Respect Members and Staff. Whether you like another person or not, you must respect him or her. Failure to treat other people civilly will result in cbox ban and possible ban from the game as a whole. If someone did you wrong, do not take it out in the cbox; please talk to a staff member.

♦ No Whining About Life in Crapville. Bad days happen, but if you're found to consistently bring down the atmosphere of the cbox, I will cbox ban you. Remember that the cbox is to engage the members in positive (and appropriately weird) discussion and strengthen the community of the site.

♦ No GIF or Moving Avatars. Because they make my eyes bleed. You can link gifs in the cbox.
