• Next Hunger Games
Our next Hunger Games is a little different than our previous ones. Called "Battle Royale," this Hunger Games will feature one lucky class to be sent to the Hunger Games together. Mr. Dressler's honors history class tried to ignite revolution in Panem. And for their trouble, they will be sent to the arena together. Join us by making a high school junior (16-17 years old) from District 11. See the Battle Royale Subforum for more information. We aim to start in December so now's the time to start developing your character!

After four years, we have decided to close down Sixth Station. The site has meant so much to many of us who spent countless hours into our game. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our game.

The 101-Fall Hunger Games are wrapping up. You have 24-48 hours to enter the final posts. Members can still post in the "History of Sixth Station" and the "Connection" forums.

Sebastian considered the man carefully. Part of him wanted to see if the man was right - if they would take him in given Orsino's death. Part of him, too, was too prideful to go back to them when they had so adamantly refused him. And then a small part of him was afraid to try - afraid because he was not sure how he would respond if they told him that it wouldn't work out. Not after what he'd just seen on television.

"I didn't try, really... This... it happened last night. I just wanted to get out quickly." He breathed for a minute, unsure of submitting and going now... or maybe it would just be better to find a place to hide and wait for a few hours - to at least let the initial pain sink in. Except, of course, he knew the pain would never truly sink in. Not really... and certainly not in a handful of hours. "I'm willing to go talk to them, but I don't know if I can handle it after..." He gestured into the direction of the television instead of speaking. Saying that Orsino was dead - saying it like that especially - somehow was extremely daunting in making all of this so very real.

"I mean, they might not listen and..." Where would he be at then? Homeless? Probably. The only definitely good part about going there would be that he could grab other things he might need from his room that he had forgotten in his haste... Or he might be able to grab a few things from Orsino's too, if he needed it. But he could get those things without this - he could steal things if he need to, even if it did not really feel like stealing since they were his own and Orsino's.

Bolt nodded understandingly at the boy as he tried to piece together what had happened. He still didn't fully understand the motivation behind the kid being force to leave his home, besides a disagreement with his parents and a clear difference in points of view, but he supposed that was between the three of them. But the kid said it had just happened last night, that he'd run out...that smacked of anger and impulse to Bolt. He'd had plenty of arguments with his own kids in which they had tried to storm out--that was a teenager's instinct, and if you didn't curb it, they would do what Sebastian had done and run to make their point. It didn't mean that what they did in anger had to be permanent. Otherwise, Cara and Xavier might never leave their rooms.

"Why don't we do this," he said carefully; he didn't want to tread on any toes or spook the boy into just running off. He needed people around him right now, especially people who knew him. "Why don't you get yourself together and then we'll go talk to them? I bet they'll listen--" Especially now, he added in his head; what parent would be so cold as to reject a child who had lost a brother and a friend and maybe more? "And if they don't..."

If they don't...then what? If they really were so narrow-minded and cruel as to send away their own grieving son just for a misunderstanding and a difference in perspective? Then...there was the group home. Foster system. Living with friends or relatives...but there was always the chance the kid didn't have anywhere else to go.

What would he want, if for some reason this were Cara or Xavier?

"If they don't...then you're welcome to stay here for a while," he offered on impulse, on compassionate and guilt-ridden impulse. But he couldn't just send the kid away and wonder if there was anything he could do to help--he struggled with not being able to help every day. Here was a real opportunity, and his conscience couldn't turn it away.

Sebastian considered the man for a minute before nodding. He didn't like taking something like a place to stay from a practical stranger... but this man, for his worth, had been the one that had told Orsino that he was ill. This man had visited him in that Justice Building - he was almost sure of that slight smack of a memory now. This man did not need to lead him to the room to sit and watch this. He could have just called the Peacekeepers and be done with him. Could have just forced him out of the house itself.

"All right... umm... A second." He moved back to the room, only barely catching a glimpse of the television now, which he managed to shut off while fumbling with a remote. The Victor didn't matter any more - not to Sebastian, anyway. He moved to grab his bag and only now registered that the quiver full of arrows was still slung across his chest. He took it off for the moment and managed to fit that in the backpack easily enough... But the bow...

He picked it up and inspected it before finding an odd button. He pressed it, almost curiously and it retracted in on itself to create something of a rod. Maybe not something that could fit in his pocket, but it could fit in his bag. He put it in and zipped it up. Heavier, now, but not by all that much. He swung it into his back and turned back to the man. "Sorry, but I might need it for longer than I anticipated now." Much, much longer than a week or so...

"But... um... let's go?" Admittedly, he wasn't sure how to process the offer of a place to stay, even if it was likely only temporary... And he wasn't sure how he could deal with staying in a Victor Mansion thinking of how close Orsino had gotten to getting one of his own. It wasn't about the house itself... so much as the reminder, which was enough. He knew he should thank the man, still. But how? What thanks could he give someone with that offer? How?

Bolt nodded and watched as the boy packed up the weapons. He didn't care anymore that the kid was stealing--it wasn't stealing if the person who owned the stuff didn't stop you, was it? Even if it was, he didn't care. If Twist or Cara minded, then he'd replace the weapons, though he'd rather not have. The last thing he needed was another weapon for his daughter to play with; he rather liked the idea of getting one out of the house, even if it was going in the hands of someone else's kid.

"It's fine," he said, picking up his jacket from the couch where he had shrugged it off and pulling it back on. If he was going to go meet strangers and try and convince them to take their son back, he should at least look the part of dignified doctor as best he could. He glanced only vaguely at the television as the boy turned it off; he supposed he didn't much care who won now, either.

"All right, let's go, then," he said, leading the boy towards the door. He had no idea what in the hell he was walking into, or what the end result of this situation would be...and if it didn't go well...well, then he might have a lot of explaining to do to his family later on.
