• Next Hunger Games
Our next Hunger Games is a little different than our previous ones. Called "Battle Royale," this Hunger Games will feature one lucky class to be sent to the Hunger Games together. Mr. Dressler's honors history class tried to ignite revolution in Panem. And for their trouble, they will be sent to the arena together. Join us by making a high school junior (16-17 years old) from District 11. See the Battle Royale Subforum for more information. We aim to start in December so now's the time to start developing your character!

After four years, we have decided to close down Sixth Station. The site has meant so much to many of us who spent countless hours into our game. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our game.

The 101-Fall Hunger Games are wrapping up. You have 24-48 hours to enter the final posts. Members can still post in the "History of Sixth Station" and the "Connection" forums.

Shadow shrugged, watching the sky as he trudged onward. He wasn't entirely sure how far the lake was, but he knew it was still a bit farther, and though he knew it was probably not smart to antagonize the Career kid who liked kicking, he opted to continue with the conversation anyway.

"Well they apparently didn't win for their teaching skills. Last games the kids from Four were both taken out by that girl from Eleven. And they didn't even put up a fight," of course that kid Barclay in the 98th Games had done a good job...but Shadow was still convinced it was hardly the training. How much training could that girl from Ten have had? Or Aster from Five? And she'd managed to take out a Career with a freaking toothbrush.

Ula couldn't say that her district's victors were the best, basically it wasn't that the mentors were bad, it usually was that the kids were. "Well it's their fault for dying..." she said. It wasn't like there had been people who were amazing good the last few years.

"How much further to the lake?" she asked because she was getting bored of walking.

"I don't know. I've only been there the one time," he pointed out. Glancing at Ula, he wondered if the kid was going to be majorly angry he'd led her all this way for no reason. Probably. He wasn't really looking forward to that so much, not after watching her take out Luna.

"You don't have to keep going if you don't want to. I'll just ask her myself if you want," he offered kindly. "It might still be a ways," he added. It probably wasn't though. At least, he hoped it wasn't.

She shook her head. She didn't want to go back, not when they were close-ish to the lake. She wanted to be there to talk to the girl and figure out the mess for herself.

"No. I'll keep going," she smiled. "I wanna keep going if it's not that much farther."

Oh well. He'd just lie when they got there anyway. Although usually he gave in after so much time and told the person he was lying to that he WAS lying. It was funny to let them know he'd tricked them. Let them know what idiots they were for believing him. Of course, it was more funny when it wasn't someone who'd try and beat him up for being smarter than they were.

And being beat up by a twelve year old wasn't really something Shadow wanted to add to his 'things I did in camp' list. So maybe he'd carry on this lie just so he could avoid that fun scenario.

"Alright," he said, falling silent after as he tried to figure out exactly what he was going to say when they got to the lake and Four wasn't there.

Ula nodded at his agreement to let her keep going with him. Ula didn't know what she was going to do if the girl wasn't there. She'd probably let it slide and go find the girl later. But then again, what if the girl had nothing to do with this? No, Ula didn't think that was right.

She skipped along the path until she could see the lake in front of them. She smiled and looked up at the boy. "Now where?" she asked, quickly.

Shadow looked around. They'd arrived at the lake pretty fast, but he'd already decided what he was going to do anyhow. There were a couple kids hanging around, and he saw a camp counselor a ways off. But no Four.

"I dunno. I mean I just overheard her saying she might be going over to the lake but not where. Maybe we should split up?" he suggested with false hesitance. "The lake is pretty big. We can meet back here in like ten minutes if neither of us finds her."

Or rather, he could circle around through the woods and go back to the cabin and take a nap while this stupid little kid wandered around the lake.

Ula looked up at the boy she had been traveling with. Was he really suggesting to split up? She couldn't decide if that was a good idea or not. It could be, if they found the girl, but if they didn't that would be a waste of time.

"Um... Okay. I guess if it'd help," Ula said with unease. The grip on her stuffed shark tightened. If this was a trick, which she hoped it wasn't, Ula would be mad. She didn't know what she'd do. Probably kick and hit and bite and punch. Just that she'd be mad, she knew that much for sure.

"Yea. It'll be faster that way," he said reassuringly. Then he paused as though reconsidering, looking at her hesitantly. "Unless you don't want to be by the lake by yourself or something? If your scared we don't have to split up," he said with great reluctance.

Shadow knew the girl couldn't be scared. Or maybe she was. Careers weren't supposed to admit they were afraid, but she was like twelve. She could be scared. Maybe of the surrounding forest though because how could someone from Four be scared of a lake?

Scared? Why would she be scared? Ula, a minature career, has beaten up boys almost twice her size, with help of course, and she often left the districts to play in the forest. Why and how would she be scared to split up at the lake?

"I'm not scared," she said in a backlash. "We can split up...

Shadow nodded slowly and started backing away.

"Alright, alright. You go that way? And then I'll go this way. We'll meet back here in ten minutes if we don't find her. And then maybe look somewhere else," he suggested thoughtfully.

Ten minutes should be plenty of time to disappear. He'd just go back to the cabins and take a nap. Or maybe go hide in one of the classes, where little girls would get in trouble for kicking him.

Ula nodded at the suggestion of coming back in ten minutes. "Ten minutes," she repeated.

It wouldn't take long to walk around the lake, searching for the girl, Ula figured. She could probably get around it faster if she ran, but that would probably look weird.

She turned and started to walk the opposite way from the boy to around the lake, figuring she'd meet back up with him, after finding the girl that is.

Shadow walked backwards a couple more steps before turning with a sharp grin. He glanced back over his shoulder once he'd gone a ways, noting that the girl was almost out of sight before veering into the tree line to take a short cut back up to the walkway that would lead back to the road...and the cabins.

He would just go back there. She'd probably take so long looking for him and Four that she'd have to go to one of the camps mandatory activities before she thought to look for him there. Of course she'd eventually catch up with him. And then he'd get a good laugh at her, hopefully at a time when she couldn't kick him without getting into trouble.
