• Next Hunger Games
Our next Hunger Games is a little different than our previous ones. Called "Battle Royale," this Hunger Games will feature one lucky class to be sent to the Hunger Games together. Mr. Dressler's honors history class tried to ignite revolution in Panem. And for their trouble, they will be sent to the arena together. Join us by making a high school junior (16-17 years old) from District 11. See the Battle Royale Subforum for more information. We aim to start in December so now's the time to start developing your character!

Thank you to Suzanne Collins for the creation of Panem and The Hunger Games trilogy. And thank you for the following people who contributed to site design: Ring Wang: banner slideshow code, Revo: fixed sidebar code, Gem: site skin(s).

And many thanks to Sixth Station members for their characters, posts, creativity and work. Thank you to everyone mentioned and unmentioned for the work put into making this site the great board it is.

Thank You

After four years, we have decided to close down Sixth Station. The site has meant so much to many of us who spent countless hours into our game. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our game.

The 101-Fall Hunger Games are wrapping up. You have 24-48 hours to enter the final posts. Members can still post in the "History of Sixth Station" and the "Connection" forums.

Differences from the Film
There are a few major differences between the film and Sixth Station. Since SS came into existence before the film did, we are based primarily on the book.

(I'm sure I forgot some things.)

Career Academies - there are none. In Panem, it's illegal for people to train for the Hunger Games. However, people still do it and the Capitol turns a blind eye for its Career Districts. Careers will train with personal trainers, friends, and at the gym. They are allowed to purchase and use weapons provided it's for training and not for violence.

Career Districts - the Career Districts are 1, 2 and 4. (In the film, 4 is not included.)

Cornucopia - the Cornucopia is a large golden horn, not a silver spaceship out of a modern art museum.

Interviews - the Tributes all sit on the stage in a semi-circle while they wait for their turns; they do not line up back stage. Girls are interviewed before boys within the Districts.

Parachutes/Sponsorships - when a Tribute receives a gift in the arena, they are delivered in little containers with silver parachutes; they do not make a noise, and they cannot contain messages.

Tokens - each Tribute may take in a small object to the arena. It cannot be something that can be used as a weapon. An example is Katniss' mockingjay pin.

Training Sessions (private) - in the private training sessions, boys go before girls of their District.

General - in the film, there's a lot of stuff that's explained to Katniss for the sake of the viewer. However, much of it is stuff that an average Tribute would know: how the Hunger Games work, the general idea behind sponsorship gifts, etc. Non-Career Tributes know what Career Tributes are, what the Career Districts are, and they, in general, despise the Careers for being trained and ruthless.
