• Next Hunger Games
Our next Hunger Games is a little different than our previous ones. Called "Battle Royale," this Hunger Games will feature one lucky class to be sent to the Hunger Games together. Mr. Dressler's honors history class tried to ignite revolution in Panem. And for their trouble, they will be sent to the arena together. Join us by making a high school junior (16-17 years old) from District 11. See the Battle Royale Subforum for more information. We aim to start in December so now's the time to start developing your character!

After four years, we have decided to close down Sixth Station. The site has meant so much to many of us who spent countless hours into our game. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our game.

The 101-Fall Hunger Games are wrapping up. You have 24-48 hours to enter the final posts. Members can still post in the "History of Sixth Station" and the "Connection" forums.

Teaching Merc was a headache. The kid understood nothing. They were making some progress but not much. Augustus always lurking and waiting for him to mess up wasn’t helping either. Malcolm was stressed, and he wanted to relax. The Games were going on, and he’d decided to take a break from watching them to go fishing on the pier. He’d caught several fish, but tossed them all back. There was no need to keep them when they had plenty already.

Malcolm replaced the tackle in the old tackle box and started to leave. He’d gotten near the beginning of the pier when some kid ran into him, making him drop the box. It clattered on the wooden slats and broke open, spilling everything. He let out a frustrated sigh and glanced around for the kid who’d apparently decided to disappear.

Well great..

Malcolm frowned to himself, staring at the mess momentarily before he knelt, putting the box right-side up. He then began to gather the assortment of hooks, flies, lines, and the like as people blindly passed. They even stepped on the equipment instead of around it. Malcolm began to grumble under his breath.

Of course! This just had to happen.

Henry puts on a jacket and walks out of his door without saying bye to his family, he just left. Henry knew were he was going, he was going to his cave, the first person he ever showed it too was Aurora, now she was dead all because of that stupid district 8 brat.

Henry was just about at the pier, the most annoying place ever for Henry, people everywhere! When Henry got there he just walked right into a crowd of people, bumping into them, Henry was just about at the steps down to the beach, that's when he bumped into another person and heard a giant crash, Henry turned at looked at who he bumped into. It was a familiar face, Henry knew that the kid was in his grade, but he didn't really know who it was. So Henry just walked down the steps fast, looking back as the kid starting picking up whatever it was that Henry had made him drop.

Henry quickly stopped and turned back around, seeing the kid as he picked up the stuff. Henry walked back up and kneeled down helping him. "Hey sorry about that dude."

Geez, all these people. Why couldn’t they just stop and help, not ignore him? They were all self-centered, the entire lot.

Malcolm reached out to grab a hook, only to jerk his hand back to avoid it getting stepped on. He glared up at the person before he snatched up the hook in case if someone else decided that they wanted to step on his hand too.

A voice caught his attention and he looked up. This kid had run into him? Well, at least he came back, and apologized, but it didn’t exactly dissolve Malcolm’s unhappy mood. Malcolm frowned again, biting back a harsh comment as the young man knelt to help. He took a breath, and forced the frown away. “Thanks,” he said, trying to keep any emotion in his voice from betraying his annoyance at basically anything and everything that moved.

Just relax, Malcolm. You’re overreacting, he told himself. Calm down. Everything’s not out to ruin your day, even though it may seem like it.

Henry continued picking up some stuff and putting it in the box. "Didn't mean to run into you, just all the people around here pushing me around." Henry tried to pick up something before someone almost stepped on his hand and he quickly pulled his hand back.

“It’s fine,” Malcolm said tersely. He looked up at the people around them. “What is with it today? You’d think that most of them would be watching the Games right now.”

Placing the hook back in its appropriate place in the box, he picked up a loosely wrapped fishing line and sat back on his heels, glancing around. There were only a few things that weren’t back in the box, one of which had rolled several feet away.

Henry got up and started picking up some of the stuff that had rolled away, one was about to roll off the pier, but he got it just in time. "I think that there's a few TV's here and there around this pier." Henry said giving the stuff back to the kid.

“I’m sure there are more comfortable places to watch though.”

He took the last few items from the guy and placed them into the box. He closed the lid, ignoring the fact that it didn’t fit perfectly anymore. Once he got home he could fix it though. It had been fixed many times before and this probably wouldn’t be the time either.

Henry walks to the stairs and sits on them. "Well, they probably want to have fun instead of being trapped in their houses. That's why I'm going to my cave." Henry then squints wishing he didn't say that.

He stood, holding the box carefully to make sure it didn’t fall again—if it did, he’d be tempted to leave it there and walk away in frustration—then joined him on the steps. Let him be in people’s ways, they deserved it.

That was true. People didn’t like staying cooped up. But why come here of places to watch? He’d never understand. Malcolm paused and arched a brow at the kid. “Your cave? Didn’t realize individual people owned caves.”

Henry sighed. "Well, I don't own it. I just go there a lot and I have a beach blanket and towel in it."

“All right then.” That was kind of weird, in all honesty, but Malcolm wasn’t going to say it. That was rude. Unless the kid decided to ask him, and then it was completely fair. Malcolm doubted that the kid would ask though.

He didn’t move as a woman huffed at them and stomped up the stairs. Malcolm gave an amused smile. They were apparently in the way.
