• Next Hunger Games
Our next Hunger Games is a little different than our previous ones. Called "Battle Royale," this Hunger Games will feature one lucky class to be sent to the Hunger Games together. Mr. Dressler's honors history class tried to ignite revolution in Panem. And for their trouble, they will be sent to the arena together. Join us by making a high school junior (16-17 years old) from District 11. See the Battle Royale Subforum for more information. We aim to start in December so now's the time to start developing your character!

After four years, we have decided to close down Sixth Station. The site has meant so much to many of us who spent countless hours into our game. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our game.

The 101-Fall Hunger Games are wrapping up. You have 24-48 hours to enter the final posts. Members can still post in the "History of Sixth Station" and the "Connection" forums.

Voxe overcame her dislike of the rain. She hadn't predicted it, but that didn't mean she couldn't enjoy it. So she was in the rain, drenched to the skin. She closed her eyes and breathed deeply as she walked through the field. Not many came outside in the downpour, and she was blissfully alone.

Until she heard...babbling, human chatter. She opened her eyes. Her "foresight" told her that the speaker was a girl, that she was talking about events in her mind, not anything true. Intrigued, Voxe walked through the rain towards the voice. She nearly ran into the girl, and jumped back in surprise when she picked out her figure only a foot away from her.

((crap post...sorry. xD))

This was great weather! To wash away impurities and troubles, nourish the ground and the plants that grew from it. Or to make you catch your death from playing out in the rain all day, if you listened to Verity's mom. Not that Verity did that very often.

Everyone was staying inside nice and dry, grabbing food from the cafeteria - she really should go do the same, she'd be better fed than she was most of the time if she did - and she wanted away from all the crowds and groups. To squish in the mud and check on all the living things in this centre that weren't willing to throw elbows to grab and extra spoon of macaroni and cheese.

"Oh, hello!" she chirped happily to a tiny little toad hopping right by her foot; she'd nearly stepped on him, being careless. She still had a very childlike fascination with frogs and bugs and things, and scooped the amphibian up. "Where were you headed? I'd like to go too!"

Her blue eyes lifted a little dreamily, seeing a girl probably her own age right there, looking like she'd had a fright. "Toad?" she offered in a friendly, unbothered tone.

She was talking to...a frog? No. "Toad?" the girl said kindly. Voxe looked down at the green, mud-streaked creature and then back up at the girl. A vision. She said, "The toad's name is Bufo." (She'd read sometime in school that the genus of common toad was called Bufo bufo, but she didn't recall that at the time.) She smiled, though she was mad at the rain again. The rain obscured everything from her: the future as well as objects only a few feet in front of her.

Now this was something! The other girl wasn't getting that face people often got with Verity, where they scrunched their brows and wrinkled their noses (looking much less than conventionally attractive in the process), or they simply rolled their eyes. She'd found someone at long last who wanted to play along.

"Bufo, what a handsome name," she beamed, handing him over to the girl. "Your Bufo now," she decided generously.

The girl's face lit up at the revelation of her friend's name. Voxe mirrored her bright expression; not many smiled when she used her sixth sense. She gladly accepted Bufo from the girl's outstretched hands. The little beast was cool and slimy to the touch. He had enjoyed the days of rain.

Voxe looked up at the girl, smiling. "And my name is Voxe. What's yours?"

"Voxe? I'm Verity!" Verity enthused, delighted to have met a friend with a name starting with the exact same letter. For most everyone else, it would seem premature to call them friends, but hey, Verity had just declared a random toad her friend, so Voxe was in. "Two V's, meant to be," she said happily.

Verity. Truth. Soundness. All Voxe's life had been consumed with a search for truth, even leading her down the gifted path of foreknowledge. She smiled at this girl, a symbol of something beautiful (in Voxe's mind). She heard the girl say, "Two V's, meant to be." Voxe nodded wholeheartedly.

Somehow, the rain seemed less gloomy now. So Voxe lifted her hands up and said, "Isn't the rain beautiful?"
