• Next Hunger Games
Our next Hunger Games is a little different than our previous ones. Called "Battle Royale," this Hunger Games will feature one lucky class to be sent to the Hunger Games together. Mr. Dressler's honors history class tried to ignite revolution in Panem. And for their trouble, they will be sent to the arena together. Join us by making a high school junior (16-17 years old) from District 11. See the Battle Royale Subforum for more information. We aim to start in December so now's the time to start developing your character!

After four years, we have decided to close down Sixth Station. The site has meant so much to many of us who spent countless hours into our game. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our game.

The 101-Fall Hunger Games are wrapping up. You have 24-48 hours to enter the final posts. Members can still post in the "History of Sixth Station" and the "Connection" forums.

Silver relaxed a little, his body shifting into something a little less tense. At least he knew that everyone there was fine now. Sure, he held no great love for them given what had happened... But that didn't change that they had little intent for what had ended up happening with him. He didn't wish them to meet his fate or worse.

The question gave him pause before he finally started writing done in the notebook.

When people started vanishing from the Sectors and panicking, I took advantage of it and fled while everyone else was too concerned to watch me. They probably counted me along with all the kidnapped and think me dead.

He paused before articulating. Some of their Peacekeepers found me near the outskirts and brought me here. He wondered, vaguely, if he should mention Dustan. Probably. He just didn't know when. I was probably half-dead from starvation then, but I got better quickly. I didn't have anywhere else to go, so here I am.

How did you get here? He was probably a runner - not a resident. Still, it was curious. He had never taken Sterling for a revolutionary.

It was odd, this silence, with only the scratching of Silver's writing to bring any life to it. Sterling didn't really know what to say--or if he ought to say anything, if that was rude, considering his brother would have to keep writing to keep up. He sat, trying not to squirm and waited, grateful when Silver turned the paper towards him.

But the words brought him little relief; he had hoped that, perhaps, Silver had been released, or given leave by his Victor to come here, in some moment of Victor rebellion or something. They were odd like that, the Games winners. But this--kidnapped, assumed dead, half-starved…it was exactly the kind of conditions he had seen his brother in in nightmares. And it meant, were he found, he would only be in more danger.

It almost made him angry. But he knew he couldn't blame Silver. He would have taken the risk, too, if it meant he could be somewhat free.

"I, uh…I was recruited, I guess," he said. "In a nightclub. One of your suppliers in the Capitol. He wanted somebody sympathetic to the cause to run supplies, with a good reason for being unreliable, not showing up to shit, for disappearing days at a time…and I guess I fit the bill."

So Sterling was a runner. That was good, he supposed. It would be easier to handle - and to keep Dustan from trying to attack him if he wasn't here as often as a typical resident was.

They've been looking for more suppliers. Some things could be done without them. There were many forms of food that were grown in the gardens or otherwise, after all. It was mostly medicine, it seemed, that was the great and wonderful issue here.

If a healer named Dustan tries to get into a fight with you, I'm sorry. He would be talking to him later about it, but Dustan never was one for being predictable, was he?

Sterling nodded; more suppliers made sense, he supposed, in a place this remote. Sterling had already been given the quick initiation--we do our own thing, everyone pitches in, everyone has a job, etc.--but you couldn't make something out of nothing, and it was obvious that the technology here was not exactly centered on manufacturing. Here, anything hi-tech probably needed to pertain to the whole…mission and all. Not that he was super clear what missions exactly were going on…that part had not been included in the welcome package.

He gave an exasperated sigh at the next message. "Is that everybody's MO here?" he grumbled. "Throw a punch, pull a gun, then ask questions?"

So far, it appeared that was their way. It was odd, for a group living in a compound focusing on freedom and all that, but then, hiding from the Capitol was horrifying enough to make weapons and paranoia necessary. Still, he couldn't help but wonder…

"How is it here?" he asked, lowering his voice. "Really, I mean. Is it actually…different?"

Silver shook his head, chuckling at the idea. Although, he supposed this was fairly accurate, but they did have to be pretty damn careful - didn't they?

He's an overprotective boyfriend. Yes, that is his MO. Who was, at one point, a Career, which probably had something to do with it.

Yes, here is different. Less entertainment, mostly, and very careful about rationing. Which maybe made being in the kitchens good, although anyone who stole usually did end up shifted out of the kitchens for a few weeks as punishment. Food, after all, was limited. They weren't nearly as harsh, at least, as what might be done to thieves of similar natures in the districts.
