101-Fall Hunger Games
Official Arena Thread
Humidity. Its everywhere, making you sweat through every pore of your skin and drenching your clothes so they stick to your body. The area is filled with a cacophony of sounds from a myriad animals, hiding among the tightly clustered trees.
The 101 Fall Hunger Games are upon us, and with them is a rainforest arena.…………………Weather and Climate:
The arena's temperature can vary, from the low 70s to the high 90s, even going to the low 100s on specially hot days. It rains often, starting and stopping suddenly with no warning whatsoever - even when the sun seems to be shining brightly overhead.
There are five sections of the Arena, each with their respective landmarks. This arena is extremely varied, with hills, small 'valleys' between the hills, and flat ground. Additionally, the Arena is littered with small streams along with two big rivers that eventually join.
A thicker part of the woods, this area of the arena is covered with tracks and droppings from animals, both big and small. It's probably the best area to hunt - or be hunted. Additionally, one of the two big rivers is in this area.
Kuala Keniam – An old, dilapidated wooden shack. It has the basics for life, along with some old, broken equipment. It used to be a wildlife observation facility, so whatever equipment is left wasn't too fancy to begin with.
There are smaller animals in this part of the forest, though not nearly as common as in the Eastern part.
A single, imposing hill crowns this flat land. Forest surrounds the hill on all sides.
Bukit Terisek - The biggest hill in the Arena. The slope varies tremendously - about halfway up, the soft 'hike' becomes a challenging, quasi-vertical climb.
The Western Forest is dominated by a huge, but calm, river. An excellent place for fishing, though fish are not the only things in the water.
Lata Berkoh – A cascade. The river creates a natural jacuzzi or dip pool, where a few lazy fish spend their lives. Useful if you want to relax, but in the Hunger Games, who has time for that?
A hilly area of the rain forest, there are some small caves barely worthy of the name, along with a bigger one.
Gua Telinga – An enormous cave nestled in the foot of a sizable hill, filled with all manner of crawlies. From millipedes to bats, passing through centipedes and giant toads, there's practically no guarantee you will have a quiet night in this cave.
There are two big rivers on the Eastern and Western parts of the Arena. Both eventually join together in the southern forest. Both are extremely calm, and even in the small cascade, the current is not strong enough to sweep a normal-sized teen off his feet.Pictures
