• Next Hunger Games
Our next Hunger Games is a little different than our previous ones. Called "Battle Royale," this Hunger Games will feature one lucky class to be sent to the Hunger Games together. Mr. Dressler's honors history class tried to ignite revolution in Panem. And for their trouble, they will be sent to the arena together. Join us by making a high school junior (16-17 years old) from District 11. See the Battle Royale Subforum for more information. We aim to start in December so now's the time to start developing your character!

And many thanks to Sixth Station members for their characters, posts, creativity and work. Thank you to everyone mentioned and unmentioned for the work put into making this site the great board it is.

Thank You

After four years, we have decided to close down Sixth Station. The site has meant so much to many of us who spent countless hours into our game. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our game.

The 101-Fall Hunger Games are wrapping up. You have 24-48 hours to enter the final posts. Members can still post in the "History of Sixth Station" and the "Connection" forums.

Cabin fever didn't even come close to describing how she was feeling. She was way too close of her family, which kept growing. Now the O'Sheas, Callahans, plus her Turmace siblings were all here. Between all them and her mind going a million miles a minute, usually thinking through increasingly grim scenarios, she couldn't take it anymore. She was entertaining a rash, impulsive, bad idea, one she would positively scream at Them or Felicity for having.

She wanted over this wall, and out of here. With all the people marooned here, evacuated, would the Peacekeepers really notice one eighteen year old leaving and simply disappearing, constantly on the outskirts of whatever district, just hiding out? Rain was pelting her prize possession hair that she suddenly didn't care about, when she saw someone moving in her peripheral vision. She spun around with a snarl, expecting to see her little sister sneaking up on her.

A wall. Voxe's wanderings had led her here--a wall that separated the prized citizens of Panem from the extremely dangerous flood waters. Voxe hadn't predicted the evacuation, so it was a sore spot for her. She wondered why they would need to evacuate anyway; it wasn't like houses were being swept away.

She moved along the wall, fingers grazing the gray cement bricks. She saw the girl before the girl saw her. And when the girl saw Voxe, she made an animal-like growl. Voxe blinked. Then a vision came.

As images flashed before her eyes at lightning speed, Voxe said, "You shouldn't climb the wall. Regret waits on the other side." She saw...what did she see? Maybe it would become clearer as she talked with the girl.

Yeah, there was water out there, but how bad could it be, truly? The sun had to come out sometime and evaporate the rain into the clouds so it could happen all over again. She was pretty sure that's how it worked, anyway. She'd never paid that much attention during science, being honest. There was always so much more interesting things going on in a classroom than the lecturing.

She was startled and extremely unhappy to have her escape interrupted. "Excuse you," she said impatiently, with an eye roll, not understanding or respecting the very cryptic warning. "I don't know what you're talking about, but I'm sure it's just wet on the other side."

Voxe saw the irritated expression on the girl's face. She looked down at the ground, then back at the wall. She pressed her palm firmly onto the concrete bricks and stared at it for a few seconds. She turned back to the girl and said, "I don't know what the wall is yet. But you have a wall in your life. Don't try to climb over it." The wall symbolized something. What? What was it?

"Knowledge. But is knowledge really power? You don't have to know what's on the other side of the wall." Half of the time, Voxe didn't really know what she was talking about.

What? What the hell? Along with the districts, were they housing mental cases too in this cramped place? As if District Five didn't already get on her nerves, now they had to be in cramped quarters with basket cases. And she'd thought her family had been the only ones that sneaked in undetected, but oh look, another one!

"It's a wall," Aster said flatly, smacking it with the flat of her palm. "Brick or stone or whatever. A wall." What was with this psychobabble? What was going on? Was knowledge power? No idea. But whatever she was on, Aster didn't want any.

"I know what's over the wall. Places that aren't here."

Voxe listened to her. She nodded. "But the wall...protects you. You could go over the wall, but what if the place that isn't here isn't good either. Is dangerous? Stay safe within the fortress of the known." Voxe ran a hand through her hair, losing her psychic tone of voice. She said, "It's like people who volunteer for the Games. They climb the wall surrounding the world they know to leap into a world they think will bring them happiness and wealth. But often it only leads to death."

Her death. Blood. And the Games. She didn't want to climb the wall, but what if she were dragged over? Was this prophecy for her as much as it was for the other girl?
