• Next Hunger Games
Our next Hunger Games is a little different than our previous ones. Called "Battle Royale," this Hunger Games will feature one lucky class to be sent to the Hunger Games together. Mr. Dressler's honors history class tried to ignite revolution in Panem. And for their trouble, they will be sent to the arena together. Join us by making a high school junior (16-17 years old) from District 11. See the Battle Royale Subforum for more information. We aim to start in December so now's the time to start developing your character!

After four years, we have decided to close down Sixth Station. The site has meant so much to many of us who spent countless hours into our game. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our game.

The 101-Fall Hunger Games are wrapping up. You have 24-48 hours to enter the final posts. Members can still post in the "History of Sixth Station" and the "Connection" forums.

Felicity was too stunned at what her older siblings (or just one older sibling and one older adopted sibling) had said. She didn't even notice Uaithne throwing up, which, despite being disgusting, was so random Felicity would've found it hilarious.
"Mom...and Dad...aren't...lousy..." she whispered, goggling at Aster. How...how could she just say that about the O'Shea's!? They were kind enough to bring them in and raise them proper, weren't they!? They were the greatest parents ever, and Felicity could even say they had done a better job than their first parents, the Turmace’s.

"And you!" Felicity's head whipped around so fast, if it was a cartoon the crack of a whip would've been played in the background. "You seemed so nice in the Games! You carried your sister around, you...you...You seemed like a nice person!" Felicity marched up to Uaithne, not noticing her boots stepping into the puddle of chunks. "But now...now you're just a jerk! What did we ever do to you!?" She stomped her foot, squashing a piece of Uaithne's partially digested breakfast.

Her hands were shaking with rage. Uaithne seemed like a good big brother, a nice guy...and now he was just brushing them off; calling Felicity a liar. Not caring about his parents. Hell, he even punched her in the face. Without thinking about the consequences, Felicity lifted her foot up to give Uaithne a kick in the knee, the one that Ambrose Nike wounded with an arrow.

(ooc: There's just something about that knee...)

They were. "Mom and Dad" were pretty heinous, if this all was as true as it seemed. And well, now that she'd come face to face with both brothers - seeing them in the Games on television was very different, and she hadn't known then to analyze their features for similarities to her adoptive parents - they did favor the O'Shae's. Any lingering questions about whether this was all a horrible coincidence and mail mix-up was now erased from Aster's mind.

She still couldn't wrap her mind around the why, though. She couldn't fathom parenthood, because the last thing she wanted was a herd of brats popping out of her delicate ladyparts and ruining her figure (but if her more affluent husband wanted kids, fine), but wasn't there supposed to be, you know, love their children? And they'd seemed...normal during the Games. Aster hadn't noticed anything off, anyway, even though they'd been forced to watch two of their kids kill and be killed. Wait. All three Callahans had been Tributes...well, everyone knew why, because Ronan Callahan had lashed out at the Capitol, who could rig the Reapings if they saw fit...and the Capitol knew the O'Shea's secret, and where they lived now...

Aster went white as a sheet as she realized. Three Callahans, all Tributes. The Capitol had run out of ways to damage that family, unless...three Turmaces and a Reaping looming over their heads, Aster's last. "God..." she said weakly, staring vacantly at Felicity kicking Uaithne and stepping in his vomit. She felt dangerously nauseous as well.

Uaithne coughed, clearing his throat of any remaining stomach juices when the girl kicked him in his bad knee. As a victor, he had gotten his knee fixed upon leaving the Games. But, like his cheek, the pain hadn't completely gone. Whether it was a true pain or a phantom pain didn't matter as the little girl's foot connected with his knee. He winced and fell backwards against the wall surrounding the evacuation centre.

He looked up at the two girls. The older one looked as though she'd been kicked. Uaithne reached down and rubbed his sore knee. He needed to plan his escape. Couldn't stand being here with these two. If it wasn't bad enough finding out how much his parents loathed him, he now had an adopted sister who threw around Lilly's name without respect. His eyes searched the yard now, and he prayed someone would come over and break this up or distracted the girls.

Felicity was very pleased with herself to have knocked down a boy much older than her with one kick. And a victor, no less!

Something made Felicity turn around and look at Aster. The older girl wasn't looking so hot, as if she had discovered an atomic bomb that was about to explode. "You alright?" Felicity asked, furrowing her brow in concern.

She looked down at Felicity, looking a little glazed over. What if Felicity was Reaped next year, after Aster couldn't volunteer anymore? Hell, what if she was Reaped this year? She wasn't sure she had the balls to die for her sister. People said that all the time, that they'd die for the people they loved, but...

"I'm fine," she answered distractedly, reaching a slightly trembling hand out to Uaithne. "Please just leave him alone, okay?" she asked her sister in a downright quiet and soft voice. Asking, not telling, with a "please" and all. She was in sad shape right now.

This was his opportunity. Without checking to see if the older girl was okay (she had the younger one for that), Uaithne moved away from them. His first few steps showed a limp, but after the soreness began to disappear, he walked more evenly. The wet grass sucked at his shoes and covered them with mud, but he didn't take the time to pick out the more solid areas; he had to get away from these people and find Ronan.

*exit*

Felicity scrunched up her face. Pardon her for getting sick and tired of some jerk brushing them off and not caring about his parents! Oh, yes, pardon her for getting "randomly angry and abusive" at "just a kind young gentleman walking by who totally cares about his family!" Oh, yes, bloody well pretty please pardon her!

Despite her anger, she nodded, but Felicity hoped Aster could see how upset she was. Even if Felicity wanted to keep on kicking Uaithne, he had escaped.

A wave of depression crashed down on the thirteen year old as she turned around and realized the Turmace girls were Uaithne-less. Turning, Felicity walked over to her big sister, paused, and then wrapped her small arms around Aster's waist. "It didn't go the way it should have!" Felicity mumbled in Aster's shirt, hiding back tears.

Uaithne was gone. Nobody was happy. Felicity had failed.

Some happy ending.
