To my lovely DEC! (Or Gem. But you're always going to be Dec to me.)
You are the best thing to ever happen to my roleplaying. You've been there as a role model of sorts to show me that characters can (and should) be different and weird. And really that's a lesson I wish I'd learned long, long ago. But it's not just my roleplaying that improved because of our friendship.
It's also my character development that's been well aided by your threading. (Seán Arkwright, I'm talking to you.) You have no idea how much your characters have inspired me to fall in love with my own enough to actually develop them and put them into horrible, terrifying situations that would make them hate me. It's been a very important process to my writing style.
Even outside of a writer, you've been an awesome person to get to know these past few years. (I can't believe it's been so long! Three years!) And I hope you have some idea how much your friendship has done for me. And I look forward to threading with you more. Because the day I stop being able to thread with you, I'm going to cry. I promise.
Also, I wrote this while watching Killer Klowns From Outer Space, which for some reason really makes me think of you. I can't quite figure out why. Other than the random insanity.

I met Gem on one of the old sites...one that's dead now. And we had great threads together. Fun times with Uaithne's alternate something-or-other. And then I came here when the older site was getting inactive. Honestly, this site has been the bestest RP times for me evah! And it's all thanks to Gem!!!! I <3 YOU!
I met Gem on Rpg-D I think…and created Brianna Lamore as my first character here as a result. I think one of Brianna’s first threads on here is still one of my favorite threads I’ve ever posted in. That and the awesome cbox chat that I was too shy to really participate in but still thoroughly enjoyed reading while creating characters and posting them everything drew me in. And when I ninja vanished for a while, Gem contacted me and brought me back, for which I’m very grateful, because this site is my favorite.
This site is awesome, it has such a laid back feel to it where I don’t feel nervous asking someone new if they want to post or someone I’ve been posting with if they want to start a new thread. This is of course because the people here are awesome, but the foundation of it is an awesome admin who is helpful and welcoming to new members, as well as dedicated to continually making the site more interesting and fun to write on. It really makes the site feel like home, and I’m always excited to log on and check my posts here. I love the lack of drama, that people can be honest here without being snarky, and I always know I can contact any of the other staff here without feeling like I’m bugging them (and if I am, I know they will tell me haha ).
As far as accessibility and friendliness goes, I think this is the best site, and Gem is the best admin. I’m so happy to be around for Sixth Station’s first birthday. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication Gem!
And without further ado, mine.
Gem, you're just awesome. Your characters are all interesting, well developed, and fun to thread with. But further than that, I've never seen an admin more involved and invested in a site. Whenever the site seemed like it was great, and as good as it needed to be, you were posting a feedback thread to find out how we could be better. When we had a pretty good-sized member base, you were wracking our brains in the staff area for a new way to advertise. When the Games were finally running smoothly, you added more and more features to make them better than before.
I think the fact that when you weren't on it, the site nearly died, speaks volumes about your impact on SS. Even though it was Saph that saved it, she did it by bringing you back. You are the true heart and soul of SS, and without you, not only would the site not be half as good as it is, it flat out wouldn't exist. I don't think any of us here could imagine a Sixth Station without Gem. And it's not like this is a resource or high school site. A Hunger Games site, but very design, requires a lot of work by the staff team to keep the story functioning. The fact that you go above and beyond is amazing.
SS is one of the most established Hunger Games sites on the web, and I'm going to go out on a limb and call it the best. We have an active, friendly, talented member base, we've gone through three very different, very fun Games, our fight system is fair and makes sense, and everyone playing seems eager to tell a story. I have a bad history with sites, joining and losing interest a week later or joining and not being able to really get into the community. I've been on this site almost a year, and this site really feels like home to me. This is not something that has ever happened to me before, and I owe it all to you, Gem.
