• Next Hunger Games
Our next Hunger Games is a little different than our previous ones. Called "Battle Royale," this Hunger Games will feature one lucky class to be sent to the Hunger Games together. Mr. Dressler's honors history class tried to ignite revolution in Panem. And for their trouble, they will be sent to the arena together. Join us by making a high school junior (16-17 years old) from District 11. See the Battle Royale Subforum for more information. We aim to start in December so now's the time to start developing your character!

After four years, we have decided to close down Sixth Station. The site has meant so much to many of us who spent countless hours into our game. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our game.

The 101-Fall Hunger Games are wrapping up. You have 24-48 hours to enter the final posts. Members can still post in the "History of Sixth Station" and the "Connection" forums.

Keeping fit had always been one of Jarilo's main priorities, besides keeping his grades up to keep his scholarship, and help his family, with Meredith somewhere around there as well. But he knew the main reason for his scholarship, and why he might be able to attend college to do something more with his life was because he was the fastest, a champion at track, and that meant that he had to keep doing what he was good at. He could not get out of the routine and let it slack.

Normally he trained at night, when people were barely around it was easier to run through the treks in the gardens, and it was quiet so he could enjoy the sound of his shoes hitting the ground as he sprinted past, that was most definitely his favorite sound. The air hitting his face, the way his lungs burned after putting all of himself into a run. It was beautiful, and it made him feel free, something that with the Capitol in power was not very common for him. But they were going to come down, because that was what they had been working towards.

He had stopped to take a breather, glad that it seemed like everything was empty. His mother was not all too pleased with him going out at that time, fearful of the vandals who had been writing anti-Capitol messages all over the city, but he had convinced her it was fine because he could out-run them. Little did she know, he had been directly involved with the acts of vandalism. As he rested and stretched his muscles he heard the sound of a twig snapping behind him, and even though he was not scared he knew it was better to be cautious, he turned around and narrowed his eyes trying to find whoever had been responsible for the intrusion.

"Who's there?"

Patience borrowed a skateboard for the afternoon, determined that she was going to ride it. But as the hours stretched into the evening, she knew that she wasn’t learning it fast enough. And then evening stretched into night, and she still wasn’t getting it. She had to move faster. Learn faster. Actually accomplish this. How could brain-dead pot-smoking teenagers figure out how to stay on this moving piece of wood and yet she couldn’t?

It was a frustration lead to a dramatic groan, with her head thrown back and her hands clenched into fists.

Uh oh. She wasn’t alone. Someone else was seeing her fail.

Mortified, Patience jumped off the skateboard and started to kick it in the direction of Jarilo. The board rolled across the ground a half foot at a time and Patience tried to think of some cool excuse as to why she didn’t come riding into the clearing like a complete badass.

“Jarilo. What are you doing out this late?” she demanded.

Out from within the trees came Patience Ibarra, the genius girl from his class who was four or five years younger than the rest of them, she was pushing a skateboard with her foot which was a little odd as Jarilo would have expected someone who owned a skateboard to be able to ride it. But he tried not to judge others, so he didn't put much thought on why Patience was doing what she was doing. Immediately, however, she spoke and seemed to demand an answer about why he was where he was, even though considering the basketball shorts and the shirt hanging from the back of them it seemed pretty obvious what he was doing.

"Jogging, and you?" in reality Jarilo felt somewhat uncomfortable around Patience, it was not the fact that she was much younger than him and the rest of his classmates, but the fact that she didn't act like a normal girl her age. If she did, then Jarilo would have been happy to be some kind of older brother figure, but with her behavior and attitudes he didn't feel fully comfortable with that. In a way, he found it awkward that she didn't act like a normal young girl and instead tried to be more like them who were older.
