• Next Hunger Games
Our next Hunger Games is a little different than our previous ones. Called "Battle Royale," this Hunger Games will feature one lucky class to be sent to the Hunger Games together. Mr. Dressler's honors history class tried to ignite revolution in Panem. And for their trouble, they will be sent to the arena together. Join us by making a high school junior (16-17 years old) from District 11. See the Battle Royale Subforum for more information. We aim to start in December so now's the time to start developing your character!

After four years, we have decided to close down Sixth Station. The site has meant so much to many of us who spent countless hours into our game. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our game.

The 101-Fall Hunger Games are wrapping up. You have 24-48 hours to enter the final posts. Members can still post in the "History of Sixth Station" and the "Connection" forums.

She had a lot going on in her life. She wanted to find her parents. She missed her parents. She hated being adopted at times and this was one of those times. Nobody seemed to understand what went through her head and why she acted the way she acted. It was close to midnight and her foster parents were having a Games watching party, still. The party should have ended hours ago, but her foster parents were the social type. The party probably wouldn't dwell down for another hour or two. Sebastian was probably at home watching the Game and while she thought about going over to his house and watching it with him she chose not too.

It's not that she disrespected the Capitol or the Games, but she was just tired of hearing about it. Orsino was doing really well and it would be great if he won. Sebastian would have him back...and Ten might actually be talked about. She didn't care for all that, to be honest. Cow was the silent type. She didn't voice her opinions concerning the Games, because she'd probably end up killed or turned into an Avox. She didn't want to lose the chance of never seeing her parents again so she chose to keep her opinions to herself.

She walked through the district square and it was like a ghost town. Maybe it was, because it was empty or maybe, because everyone was watching the Game, but whatever it was, it was quiet and cow liked quiet. She walked towards the edge of the square looking at the open fields. She wanted to go to the pastures, but it was too late for that and she wasn't stupid. Instead she took in the fresh air and sighed. It was a beautiful night. A beautiful night it was.

It was rather late. Talus was at his post, by himself. The other peacekeepers were stationed closer to the parties, and those who weren't meandered there anyway. Not Talus. He was pretty strict about his job. Though he did sit on a bench, his helmet removed, gun at his side. It was a quiet night, and he too enjoyed quiet. He just sat, taking some time away from work so to speak. He didn't watch the games, ever. He hadn't since he was a child. And he never wanted to again. He had no reason, no interest. Before it was simply because he couldn't bear to watch it, or because he felt he was better than most who had been reaped. Now just.. Disinterest. He'd never go to the games, never compete. He thought about that a little but mostly about home. He'd been in district 10 for a couple of months now, but he liked it better in district two. Too many cows out here...The smell was constant. It was an irritant to him.

Footsteps broke his thought, and he looked up, watching a young girl he'd seen once or twice cross his path. He watched her, waiting for her to make a move out into the pastures which wasn't allowed this late at night, but she stopped, so he left her be. He made a fleeting thought as to why she would be out there, by her self, this late, but it drifted fast as he drifted back into thought.

Her body inched closer to the pasture. She could run out there and hide. She'd done it before. Nobody would notice. That was until her parents realized she was gone and reported her missing. That had happened before too. They were over protective her. She watched the moon in the sky and walked a little bit into the pasture area, but stopped. It wasn't allowed and she hadn't checked to see if anyone was around, before she could sneak in there. She remembered one time...two months ago. She had ran away from her foster parents and they found her asleep curled up next to the horses. Her parents had grounded her for three weeks. She wasn't allowed to leave the house with anybody they didn't trust. Her father walked her to and from school, before work and during his lunch break. It was embarrassing to say the least.

When her parents were still here, before the flood she had so much freedom. They let her wander around Ten as long as they knew were she was going, but back then she didn't have a reason to escape. She wasn't looking for anyone. Everyone told her to give up. The flood had gotten to them, but she didn't want to believe that. she didn't want to believe anything. She looked to her right and saw a man on a bench. A Peacekeeper, but for some reason that didn't stop her. She took another step into the area. Not deep. Just in the entry way, but still farther than what she was allowed to be in at night. She took in the air. Something she didn't care for, but had gotten use to lately.

He sat for a moment in thought, before he noticed the girl stepping over the boundaries. He sighed, and stood, tucking his helmet under his arm and walked towards her.
"Ma'am." he spoke softly, officially. "I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to step back inside the gate. Entering the fields after curfew is forbidden." He was speaking softly, not demanding or harsh, just...very officially. He was in his element so speaking to a girl about breaking rules wasn't a problem for him.

((Ooc: Short post is short >> Sorry XD; ))

There was a voice. Not a cold vicious voice like she had heard in her dreams or in her head, but a soft voice. One she didn't expect Peacekeepers to carry. "Ma'am. I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to step back inside the gate. Entering the fields after curfew is forbidden." She didn't even think twice, but she stepped back quickly. She knew what it was like to be punished. She had seen it happen before and what she hadn't seen she had heard stories. Here in Ten it wasn't that bad, not in Piper's world, but it was different for every District. She knew that too.

She looked up at the Peacekeeper. One she hadn't seen before. Had she? He was taller, dark hair, dark eyes..different. She couldn't help, but catch a glimpse at him. No. She shook her head. Stop it Piper. "I'm....so...sorry..." she stuttered. It wasn't like her to stutter. It wasn't like her to be afraid, but that's how she felt right then and there.

He frowned a bit, and shook his head. "No, no miss, it's fine. I just am here to do my job." He smiled, as a kind of social formality really. Make him less intimidating. Something scyther told him to do. He didn't see the point but whatever. "You're more than welcome to stand withing the fences and look out, but I'm afraid i can't let you go past that." He normally wouldn't be able to reply at all, because of how he was socially but he was on the job right now. Made it a lot easier.
